Fine art you can wear: The Atomic Heart from the painting Memory of the Atomic Heart, from the Baby Series by surrealist painter Michael Lawrence.
Memory of the Atomic Heart comes from Michael Lawrence's Baby Series, and the heart is the part that stops people. Atomic hearts were developed in the 1970s, a time when it was rare to pick up a newspaper without reading about their progress. They were implanted in animals such as cows first, then in humans. Michael's version is a retro-futuristic heart, part machine and part memory, thought-provoking and strange in the way only a surrealist can manage.
The shirt:
- 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (heather colors contain polyester), 4.2 oz/yd²
- Pre-shrunk, side-seamed, with shoulder-to-shoulder taping
- Unisex fit
- The fabric is slightly sheer and may look see-through in lighter colors or certain lighting
- Printed on demand just for you, which reduces overproduction
Available in six colors: Black, Navy, Olive, Charity Pink, Steel Blue and Tan.
Wear it to a gallery, a show or anywhere you'd like a conversation to start. You'll be supporting independent art.
