Michael Lawrence

Who is Michael Lawrence

Former Featured Porcelain Artist for Disney and Warner Brothers

Michael Lawrence always knew he wanted to be an artist, and he took every opportunity to become a successful one. Michael created exquisite collectibles and creations that are highly sought after today. Living in San Francisco, California gave Michael the opportunity to create for Gump's and Nordstrom Inc., with showings at the Harvey Milk Gallery and others. He was also commissioned to do a porcelain reproduction of the San Francisco City Hall that was presented to Senator Dianne Feinstein for her 50th birthday party at the Fairmont Hotel. Soon after, he received contracts from Disney Fine Arts and Warner Bros. to create porcelain figurines and collectibles of some of their most beloved characters.

Throughout his life, Michael also painted in different mediums such as watercolors and pastels, and he started painting in oils when he was around 23 years of age. In his ceramic designs, he created works of art drawn from his imagination, life experiences, and extensive travel. His oil paintings are thought-provoking and engaging — babies flying on insects, evangelicals preaching doom and destruction, government industries, celebrities who have touched his life, and endangered species all ask the viewer to consider how the characters play into the paintings, offering a glimpse into the mind of the man who created them.
