Take the Jazz Lady from Mike's Diner, from the Psychic Books Series by surrealist painter Michael Lawrence, to the campsite.

Mike's Diner is an oil on canvas and the first in Michael Lawrence's American Series, a comment on America's food production and both its wealth and its disparity. The landscape is peaceful yet barren. A Quaker woman plays her saxophone, the music of the devil, with a benign smile; a man proudly holds up the prize of his hunt, an enlarged grasshopper; and skeletons wait patiently for their order inside the diner.

The mug:

  • Lightweight 12 oz enamel with a white coating and a silver rim
  • Made for camping, hiking and early mornings
  • Not dishwasher or microwave safe. Hand wash only

Original art that's tough enough for the trail.

About the artist

Michael Lawrence

Michael Lawrence is a San Francisco surrealist painter who sees the true reality of life, not what people portray it to be, and paints his interpretation. His paintings are the kind you study in a museum, trying to work out what the artist was thinking and what inspired it.

Michael's works have been shown at the Harvey Milk Gallery, Gumps, Nordstroms, the deYoung Museum, Disney, and Warner Brothers. He has also held contracts with Disney Fine Arts and Warner Bros. to create porcelain figurines and collectibles. If you love Dali, Kahlo or Bosch, you will love his art.
