Michael Lawrence built a painting around her. On either side stand a serene figure in deep blue, the Virgin of Guadalupe, and a Victorian doll in a flowing gown holding a rose, both with flames curling at their hems above green and blue waters full of fish. Two porcelain medallions, a human heart and the all-seeing Eternal Eye, are made with the same porcelain techniques Michael used for the figurines he created for Disney and Warner Bros. The painting is a meditation on how quickly childhood passes, and on fire as a force that purifies.

The mug:

10 oz slim porcelain with a glossy white finish

The print stays vivid and keeps its luster through the microwave and dishwasher

Dishwasher and microwave safe

A small piece of surreal art for the morning coffee, and a gift with a story.

Artwork by San Francisco surrealist painter Michael Lawrence, who paints life as it truly is, not as people portray it, in work you study like a piece in a museum.
